JON "PELVIS" BURROWS
by Arty Caboodle

There was a faint voice in the airwaves today that said to "Google" search a person named Jon Burrows. I opened an internet window and appeared before me was the glorious search engine homepage with the blinking insertion point where I typed letter for letter the name J-o-n-B-u-r-r-o-w-s. What I found was a link of a musicians network called isound.com for Jon Burrows's profile page. I couldn't believe my eyes looking at a photo of Elvis Presley "as" an older gentleman with his hair more than slightly graying. I assumed indifference hoping that he poses there before my eyes, incognito (and not dead) with his shaded glasses and their frames sitting there on that chiseled nose and a gleam to his eyes that wink signals of Elvis Presley understated.

To my great surprise, I found that the man "Jon Burrows" sings, and remarkably interchangeable to the bawl and snarl of Elvis Presley's signature vocals. The song plays while I awaken out of a raptured feeling of Elvis still alive and I re
alize that while I sit here I listen applaudingly to his song "Stars and Stripes" and exude a contemporary pride and share a similar patriotism to this country of The United States. The mystery of Jon Burrows begins to unfold in my head when I realize that somewhere in my collection of memories that very name "Jon Burrows" was marked tabloid by the media when they discovered it was the name that Elvis Presley used when reciprocating with public figures upon entering The White House.

Mystery around the case of Elvis' death prevails even today as we experience the nuances of our culture and civilization with people nurturing people with Elvis regarded into discourse to personify our youth, regurgitating his styles of past decades and also his retroactive poise including the mimicking of his celebrity personality. The sequence of these events, this menage a trois of these nuances exemplifies the mystery of Elvis Presley and his existing fervor in modern society. A tenacious memory of Jon Burrows shaking hands with President Richard Nixon in the quarters of The White House fortifies my theory that "Elvis Presly" is Dead and that the man Jon Burrows is alive and well releasing his own original music and maintaining musicianship of Elvis Presley and his current music releases.

The other day I ran into a website that represented a man named Jon Burrows as an entertainer among the several Elvis impersonators akin to using "Jon Burrows" as a stage name. To my surprise, it was in fact a younger Jon Burrows, but somewhat unlike the man I discovered on the iSound network with a face accommodating an aged Elvis Presley! Some things bothered me about Jon's website; for instance the birth year on this entertainers site says 1962 when on his iSound profile the birth year is registered as 1935; also the biography text makes many concluding references written in the frist person such as: throughout life he has idolized Elvis Presley and he says that he is recognized as someone who has facial attributes very similar to Elvis and so much so also affiliated with him; and especially with the semblance he creates naming his self titled site "Jon Burrows" and the sub-title "The Spirit of Elvis" where I am led to believe that he apparently is not Elvis. Nothing close to the image in my mind of a graying haired man pin-pointed as Elvis Presley, but still a man that embodies all of the stage presence reminiscent of Elvis Presley. I take a gander at the photo on iSound.com and lose all sensibility at my first glance knowing that it is Elvis behind the man he calls Jon Burrows. I can only guess that these peculiar details like fabricated pretenses are methods to stay out of the scrutinizing spotlight and rather under the bureaucratic umbrella of social norms and sociability.

Be sure to check out Jon Burrows and his internet fame by doing the research behind the man and the illusory death of Elvis Presley and find as I have the connection of Jon Burrows and Elvis Presley a duality inseparable and likely that "Elvis Presley" IS alive, well, and living among us. Also be sure to find his entertainer's website where he posted clips of his performance footage and perpetual hip gyrations that could make the bobby-pins fly out of a gals hairdo and his revolving pelvis enough to earn a public handle such as Jon "Pelvis" Burrows and a five star rating from moi.
